E-learning Course in Sports Funding
rms sports consultants has developed a series of practical workshops designed specifically for National Governing Bodies of Sport, County Sport Partnerships and Local Authorities wanting to support staff, sports clubs and community groups with funding support, club development and sports marketing. As follows:
Sports Funding Workshop
rms has designed sports funding workshops which are specifically for sports development staff, sports clubs and groups wanting to access information on how and where to apply for sports funding.
Topics can include an overview of different grant aid opportunities, hints and tips on how to prepare a high quality application, how to research different grant opportunities, advice on the supporting material required and how to build a strong case for funding sport, with model applications, successful case studies and tasks which allow participants to work on their own project ideas.
Our most popular workshops are two 2-hour workshops which accommodate the absolute beginner in sports funding to the more experienced sports club or sports development professional just wanting to further develop their skills and build a strong case for funding sport.
They are ideal sessions to be run at an event being organised for sports clubs, coaches, volunteers and administrators.
rms has extensive experience in sports funding work and has already successfully delivered the workshop at Regional Conferences and Club Forums with some excellent feedback.
It was delivered as part of Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke On Trent's club development programme and at the RFUW Midlands Conference with the sports clubs in attendance finding the workshops very interesting with some useful information on how to prepare a successful grant application.
'rms sports consultants delivered a bespoke Sports Funding Workshop for us providing advice and support to our sports clubs on investment support, funding streams and funding applications which the clubs found extremely informative and beneficial'. He added 'we will definitely be organising future workshops with them'.
Chris Turner, Club Development Manager, Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent
'it really helped our fledgling Clubs (and some of our more experienced ones) in having such a specific and yet simple workshop. All went away with a better understanding and some since have been in touch to say it has helped with their funding applications'.
Claire Antcliffe, RFUW Midlands Regional Development Manager
Club Development Planning Workshop
rms has developed a club development planning workshop which is specifically for sports clubs wanting to identify key areas for development and produce a high quality club development plan.
Topics covered include an overview of the role and purpose of club development planning, a step by step guide on how to produce a high quality club development plan, advice on how to engage with and consult with key organisations in assembling a plan, with successful case studies and model plans and tasks, which allow a small group of club members to produce an outline club development plan.
rms has extensive experience in delivering club development planning workshops and supporting sports clubs in writing club development plans to support grant applications and overall development with some excellent feedback.
'The workshop was very thorough, providing clear and concise details about how to write club development plans, with hints and tips on structure and content'.
Martin Cook, Sports Facilitator, Mansfield District Council
rms produced a club development plan for Nottingham Rowing Club which was used to strengthen partnerships with key organisations and gain funding to support various projects. Since producing the plan the club is now Clubmark accredited and has successfully secured £173,000 to support both recreational and junior rowing programmes.
'The development plan was a splendid piece of work and British Rowing thought it was so good it became an exemplar to other clubs'.
Keith Atkinson, President, Nottingham Rowing Club
Sports Marketing Workshop
rms has developed a brand new and exciting workshop designed to help sports clubs and organisations drive up levels of participation, attendances and revenue in sport.
Topics covered can include practical marketing and PR tips to help clubs and organisations raise their profile, specific advice on brand management, how to assemble an advertising strategy, hints and tips on successful sponsorship negotiation and media relations, with model press releases, PR material and tasks which allow participants to work on their own marketing ideas.
Our associate, Danny Stones, delivered a half day marketing session with the board and senior management of Barnsley Football Club, which led to a season ticket marketing, design and PR project which achieved record breaking sales and revenue increases.
'Danny worked very closely with myself, the board and key members of our team to devise, launch and maintain the momentum of our highly successful season ticket campaign'. He added 'Danny's specialist expertise and input helped us to achieve the highest sales since we were in the Premier League rising from around 5,000 to well over 9,000'.
Don Rowing, General Manager, Barnsley Football Club
